help please!

i have a D link wireless router and i cannot connect to it w/ my iphone??? it just wont join the network!!!!

any suggestions?

Hey Mike hows the new phone coming otherwise it's Nada here, remember I told you about a little trick I use with my d-link router ? I add the $ symbol with no space after in front of my password for my router. What model of router do you have ? As well have you been able to at least atempt to enter your password or is that where your stuck ??

i have a Dlink DIR 615 router and i did try to add the $ sign in front of my password and still no luck!

not sure where to go from here...

Hi Mike: Login to your D link router. ip address should be 192.168.1.1
go to wireless settings. Remeber the name you setup for you wirless connection.

enable Wap key or Wep it depends how secure you want the network.
select your password in hex or pharase which easy for you to remember

save setttings and logout.

go to your iphone wifi settings. select nework your iphone should find your network name punch in your password and you are good to go. This password will be saved and it will only erase or change when you reset your phone completly

i have now reset my router and it still does not work... strange enough it works at my friends place but not mine...

i keep getting the same message "unable to join the network "network name"

Mike Try with your friends place to see if you can connect to his or her router. One more thing. Instead of selecting pharase password remember the hex password, copy it down on the papaer . When your iphone detects the network type it hex digit not the pharase.

this is just an example. Mikeiphone, digits will be 6629CA16D9

so type 6629CA16D9 on your iphone click join.

it turns out i needed to enter the network security key and not the password that was registered...
